Welcome to Walnut hill worship

What is worship?

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” - Romans 12:1

Worship is how we live, serve and glorify God in everything we do. It’s an all-encompassing way of life that we strive for out of obedience to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. We’re called to this so that the world will know Him.

Why do we worship?

“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!” Psalm 96:3

God is the giver of all good gifts and as we recognize those gifts, we are to praise Him and steward them to build His kingdom. For many of us as music worshippers, we not only recognize the gifts He’s given, but the responsibility we have in leading people in worship with our voices, instruments, dancing, acting, spoken word and more.

Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.”
Psalm 95:1-3

HOW WE SERVE TOGETHER.

You’re a leader on a platform entrusted to you.

Whether you’re the lead vocalist in the set, singing harmony, playing an instrument or running tracks, you’re part of leading the congregation. In order for us to do that well together, here are some things to consider:

  • Pray for purpose in your role, helping people hear God’s Word.

  • Communicate & respond to volunteering request, if you’re late, or needing to cancel.

  • Please be on-time the best you can out of respect to others who depend on you.

  • Be ready & rehearsed by knowing the songs you’re scheduled to play or sing.

  • Check service flow sheet and ask leaders to help you understand what’s needed.

  • Attend scheduled rehearsals that take place mid-week and prior to service.

  • Speak up ask questions for clarity and seek help when needed. We want you to grow!

  • Distraction free approach to worship. It’s not about us, it’s about Jesus.

  • Have fun stewarding your gifts and worshipping with others.
